Several works have been selected for this year’s Candid Arts Trust exhibition in Berlin. The exhibition will take place between 3rd – 18th May 2012 at Universität der Künste Berlin, Hardenbergstrasse 33, Berlin-Charlottenburg. Fi has several pieces in the Nexus Art Cafe’s ‘On Bread Alone’ exhibition which explores the relationship between need and creativity. Nexus Art Cafe can be found in Manchester City Centre, on Dale Street and opposite Vinyl Exchange at M1 1JW. The exhibition runs from 19th April-17th June 2012 and is open daily.
The 12th EM Contemporary Art Auction is being held at the Djanogly Art Gallery, Lakeside Arts Centre, University Park, Nottingham in partnership with Contemporary Independent Artists. Fi has been invited to create some site specific concrete poetry at the University of Derby. This is in response and in celebration of poet Eugen Gomringer’s work. ‘Out of Ten’ started at school…..I’ve recently become reacquainted with my one of my school art exercise books, it seems to be a study of household objects at age 13. Each drawing has been given marks out of ten based on a set of criteria and values of that time, of that art teacher. [...]
Flour Scapes is the over-arching theme for a body of work in progress that raises questions about where thoughts ‘live’. Flour Scapes is being developed in both 2D and 3D formats.
As a result of her residency at Harrington Mills Studios, Fi is currently working on Flourish in artist’s book form. More news about this soon.
