Through a diverse range of visual outcomes - from large-scale site specific installations that fill the space with poetic reflections which expose the hidden histories and depths of buildings, to digital images and prints – Fi's creates her work with a balanced sensitivity, being mindful of  the environment, project and audience.

A natural curiosity and fascination with nature, time, science and history feed Fi's practice, which explores the things that surround us and yet cannot be seen. There is a story worth sharing to every piece of work Fi creates.

Not bound by one specific medium, her work can take the form of photography, collage, painting or the arrangement of more unlikely materials such as flour and bread! "The artists’ curiosity with what ‘went before’ has led her on many journeys, both literally and philosophically.  In particular, her ‘Since Sliced Bread' project, which celebrates the history and culture of windmills".

With her extensive project management experience, Fi is in her element when creating art in response to a specific site, purpose or aim.

Fi has been described as a polymath and has an International working career which began with 9 years on the East Coast of the States. Her work has been exhibited in London, Berlin, Bristol, Derby and Nottingham, with recent works in Cork Street and the Royal West Academy.

When not in her studio, she works in healthcare settings curating large-scale exhibitions as well as supporting people of all ages and abilities in using creativity to improve wellbeing.

I like to connect to how we experience life and social history by exploring our relationships with the ‘everyday’ including language and eating!

As well as responding to cultural references, my practice is influenced by Eastern philosophies.

Not being bound by a single medium gives me an immense sense of creative freedom to let the work lead me where it wants to go, somewhere I didn’t even know I wanted to go before I got there! This leads to unique outcomes and a sense of being an explorer!”
