Daily Writing

October 2, 2024 Fi Burke

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to get Arts Council DYCP funding to develop the writing side of my practice. Some of my previous installations had included text. Fast forward and I now can't stop writing! This drawer of my morning pages has given birth to many a poem! I hope to feel brave enough to share some of them soon!

Autumnal scenes from the River Dee at dusk. Mixed feelings - love the light, the colours, the glow. Not so keen on the day moving to night so early. Why does it take me by surprise every year !? 😱
From the archives! A prompted 'journey' back today to all things flour and bread. This was part of an installation at the wonderful Harrington Mill Studios as part of the British Art Show Fringe. I'm thinking 2011 or 2013?
Someone's enjoying a strawberry instead of my usual monkey nut offering!
Scenes from this week's trip to London. All in one day - me and a Gormley, Brit Museum architecture v's mid century on the side of the rail track.
